Highland Saunterers Forester’s Guild – RECURRING
The Aethelmearc Royal Guild of Foresters invites one and all to join us for a Garb Saunter under blue skies and the green sylvan mantle. Garb is suggested, but is optional. PAST EVENTS
Shire Twelfth Night
Bardic arts, games, a sewing circle and delicious food made the day a success. Their highnesses, King Andreas Morgan and Queen Kallista Morgunova presided over this joyous event, recognizing several shire members.
Shire Thanksgiving
Our annual Shire family gathering with wonderful additions from all for a potluck. This evening was the best of fellowship, food, and fun.
Haunting in the Hollow 2025
A fantastic time was had by all again at the Shire’s annual fall event. This year, events included heavy fighting, rapier, archery, thrown weapons, bardic, children’s activities, and arts and sciences displays. Wonderful food was provided at the feast by Arianna de Valone, as well as a fantastic dayboard, breakfast and traveler’s repast.
























Archery Practices – Summer 2025
All through the summer, on Tuesdays and Thursdays, Laird Gaelen has held archery practice at his home. The turn out for each practice has been excellent and has included the shooting of at least one Royal Round for those who wish to participate and keep their kingdom average up.





Haunting in the Hollow – October 2024
The kingdom enjoyed a day of haunted Shire activities, including thrown weapons, A&S competitions, Brew Tasting, Feasting, Rapier and Heavy Fighting, and more. It was a beautiful fall weekend full of smiles. We were graced with the presence of their highnesses, King Bjarki Rikardson and Queen Gabrielle de Winter and many fine Lords and Ladies of the populace. We look forward to seeing this event take place again next fall…..










Friday, July 12, 2024 – Crampton Gap Saunter
This 9 mile “saunter” near Burkittsville, MD was a day of fun and exploration. We saw the Crampton Gap Battlefield site, a Continuity of Government Apocolypse Shelter, and hiked through Blair Witch Country! We rounded it off with a fire and even found some fresh berries to snack on along the way!





Saturday, July 6, 2024 – Region 1 Day of Tournaments at 11:00am
Fun was had by all with a variety of delicious food offerings, catching up with friends from across Region 1, and plenty of heavy fighting and rapier! Lady Arianna trialed her roasted beef with garlic sauce and focaccia bread recipes, which will be featured at Haunting in the Hallow. Duke Andreas made enough hot dogs and hamburgers to feed the masses, and many other good gentles brought food to share. It was a day of leisure, friendship and fighting! Many are already clamoring for this event to return next year!






Sunday, June 30, 2024 – Shire Day in the Park
It was a hot day at Jefferson Memorial Park, but quite a few fighters geared up to practice and the Cook’s Guild showed up in force. Delicious Andalusian recipes were shared, including grilled meats and homemade sausages, Andalusian stuffed eggs, rice, pasta, salads, and cake! Yum! Many folks even stayed late to enjoy one another’s company and the delectable dishes provided.
Saturday, June 22, 2024 – Appalachian Trail Saunter
Despite the heat (103 heat index this day!) we had a great time on this hike!

Friday, June 21, 2024 – Thrown Weapons Practice
An excellent thrown weapons practice was held. Folks from the shire and abroad attended. We had 10 throwers, as well as plenty of food and chatting.





Friday, May 31, 2024 – Thrown Weapons Practice
Everyone had a lovely time practicing thrown weapons, chatting around the campfire and noshing on hot dogs. A beautiful evening of comaraderie and marshal activity.







Sunday, May 26, 2024 – Shire Day in the Park at 12:00PM-4:00PM
This was a fantastic gathering of Shire folk. Rapier and Heavy fighting practice had multiple participants, the cooks guild created a smorgasbord of delicious foods both documented and inspired by foods from Kievan Rus. Several folks were busily working on sewing and other A&S projects, while our A&S minister provided projects including cloth button making kits and wood block fabric printing. With beautiful weather, a well attended event full of friends, and a fun historical atmosphere, this event was spectacular!
